Certifications
The Office of Vocational Rehabilitation provides financial assistance with obtaining and maintaining certifications required or recommended for positions within the agency. Costs that are covered include the application and examination costs for an approved certification and maintenance fees to sustain the required certification. The cost for the application and examination will be paid one time only pass or fail. Subsequent fees for attaining the certification are the responsibility of the employee.
Approval for agency support of a professional certification requires that the certification be based on direct requirement of the position or through recommendation by a supervisor as to the pertinence of the certification to the agency mission, philosophy and values.
All professionals governed by specific state or federal guidelines for their profession are required to adhere to certification standards or requirements outlined for each discipline. This includes; rehabilitation technologists, vocational rehabilitation evaluators and nurses.
