Training and Development Overview

The agency offers a variety of development opportunities for employees. Announcements regarding upcoming training opportunities are distributed via statewide email, but the calendar link at the top of the page and this segment of the website are also great sources of information.  Read on for additional information on what you will find in this section of the website.

CMS Training

This section provides information on the Case Management System utilized within the agency.  Resource manual links and direct access to training sites can be found in this section.

Computer Software Training

Computer training skills are offered through two sources within the state.  New Horizons holds the contract for computer training with state agencies and the Energy and Environment Cabinet also offers select software program training in Frankfort.  Details regarding schedules and registrationprocesses for these programs can be found on this page.

Disability Training Resources

Many professional associations offer training free access to training on specific disabilities.  The links found on this page are a few resources that might be beneficial to all employees, but in particular those who are new to the agency.

Online CRC Continuing Education Resources

Online training programs are becoming more prevalent.  These programs provide "just in time" training initiatives and are more cost efficient in delivery.  The agency supports the internal development of online programs and also encourages the use of exteral online resources for professional growth and development. This page provides information on the agency "online training policy" as well as direct links to available development resources that will be of interest to all employees, but especially those working toward continuing education credits for CRC.

Professional Conferences

This page contains information about upcoming professional conferences.  The agency provides assistance for attendance at professional conferences based on funding availability. Agency support memos for conference expenditures as well as detailed instructions for registration can be found on this page. 

State Government Training Resources

The Governmental Services Center (GSC) provides training to state government employees. This section provides information on the specific programs offered as well as resources to assist with registration.

Upcoming Training

The agency offers mandatory new employee training throughout the year.  The training and development calendar provides information on specific dates, times and places for these events.  On this resource page you will find a list of the mandatory training programs and a description of each.

 

Training Participation
 

Approval for participation in any training is based upon the relevance to the job responsibilities of the individual, supervisory approval, funding availability and must be included on the employee Career Development Plan.
